Week 21 of Luna Jubilee’s 52 Weeks of Color Challenge… White! I just love white. There’s something so striking to me about someone who is dressed in multiple layers of white, although I opted to go with a floofy dress and tree blossoms.
The dress is from Mimikri and just one the many many items I adore from that shop! Always avant garde, always high quality, Mimikri never lets me down.
The makeup on this look is from Addict by Kianna Noel. It’s available at Another Fundraiser II, which is going on through April 3rd. All of the makeups and skins there are L$50 with proceeds going to the Red Cross (for Japan). Continue reading
These are some of my favs from Skin Fair…
Curio Pout… beautiful. Very much on the youthful side, this gorgeous skin wowed me. It’s been a while since I have been so totally enamored with a Curio skin. The lips are like a luscious ripe apple just screaming “BITE ME”. Wanting to love a skin and then finding that you do? Wonderful.
Mynerva. Yayyy new to me skin! I chose this one because of it’s raw beauty. The skin is designed to be sold as a more basic skin that includes a ‘no brow’ option so that you can take advantage of all the wonderful 2.0 makeups out there. Shown here, is just the skin – brows opted!
And this here is Lara’s Ava. Lara has been one of my favorite skins recently. The flawless, soft complexion combined with full lips makes this an ideal skin that I’ve seen work well on many shapes.

First of all, let me say that this was a harrrd challenge! But I was interested in Whimsy’s challenge because I thought for sure I had great stuff to make this happen!
20 bazillion tryons out of my inventory later and I came up with this Mimikri coat to center my look around. There are alot of options to do this and still pull off a professional look. However, in my opinion, the sleeker the look, the more professional. Pairing the jacket with black trousers, for instance, would not look as serious.
And for all the stuff I have in my inventory, I didn’t have much to suit this look! Alot of what I came across may have worked but they were older items. Last Call, for instance, was my immediate go-to. The skirt I finally chose is from Artilleri and finished off the look. I think I manage to look like the bizness as well as sport a little style with my saucy shoes!

Funnily enough there’s been zero rain lately. Mostly clear here… Oh wait! There were a few droplets yesterday morning. Does it really matter though? When it comes to fashion? I think not.
The paraplu set is from TorridWear and I was lucky enough to win the set back when it was released! It’s been around for a bit, but I never got the chance to show them off properly like everyone else did. Always one to do things fashionably late, I’m taking my turn now!
Also gave me a chance to wear one of my favorite coats on the grid! Armidi Gisaci’s Lima Trench in Divinity… not sure exactly how waterproof it is, but it’s super cute!
The hair I had to eff with for what seemed like hours to get it to cover my fat head, but I think I managed finally, if you don’t look at the back! It’s *0 Style* Ayase in Swedish Blonde and this is what my hair would really look like on a rainy day… except it wouldn’t. at. all.
I first saw the skin here and then, here. I loved the Detour demos for Lydia and Tamara but had to adjust the lips alot to get that perfect pout! I finally decided on the Lydia skins because of this dark burgandy lip color that I love!
I’m also very proud of my skill hiding the fact that I cut my foot off in the picture and I have no idea how – by positioning that shape low enough that it looks like my foot just slipped off the border.
Just a little rainy day prep fashion 😀
Eyelashes: the Obscene Artemis lashes
Blouse: Mimikri Joy Blouse in pistacio
Pants: Mimikri Zoe Pants in olive
Shoes: Armidi Gisaci Barcelona Slingbacks in eggplant
Time for a little light fashion 😛 Or a lot of light fashion! One of my favorite shops on the grid, Mimikri has got the style and chic design I follow regularly. In fact, I was surprised at how much I actually have stuffed in my inventory when I went to take pics! So then, there I was with my not-so-mad ps skills and all this stuff I wanted to show. So bear with me… this is photo heavy!
The City Cat Jacket was my first foray into the magical yummy goodness that is Mimikri. Although teased for looking like I was wearing a space jacket (shup!), I loved the quilted texture and rich hues. The Zoe pants (combined with the Chloe tanks in matching colors) have proven to be a staple when it comes to sexy chic. Slowly, over time, I came to anticipate the new releases knowing that Mimikri Kit was adventurous and fun when it came to her designs and that there was a high probability that I’d love whatever she put out next!
As you can see, I haven’t progressed much in my PS skills 😛 But pay that no mind! Keep your eyes on the clothes, folks, nothing else to see here! I’m just grateful that I could actually combine these down to the 7 or 8 I have instead of doing them individually 😛
With varied and lush collections such as Joy, I found that I could rarely pick just one color and the fabulous Corsage tops that you can choose from come as part of the collection, and are beautiful and great to mix and match withFrequently, the new releases and collections are heavily peppered with the same core colors, which keeps adding options to how you can wear them best. Mimikri continually shows a flair for the dramatic and elegant fashion with her attention to detail and her inspired designs. So what if I don’t have a fancy schmancy high society event to go to?! In the fabulous Cortina Loop Wrap I can definitely look the part anyhow!
And the elegance continues with her latest release, Modesty. This dress also comes with a version to wear as tutu skirts and I have to admit they’re pretty cute. The problem is I took that hypocritical oath a while back and I still have a hard time admitting that I might actually like something that is remotely babydollish in style 😛
I figured it was high time I pay proper homage to the designs of Mimikri, and will continue to watch for more spectacular releases!
