Old Skool caLLie… feat. Tuli

I wanted to say gigantic thank you to everyone who participated in the blogger’s appreciation week. It gave me a chance to meet some great people and enjoy the frenetic discussions in the group IM The generosity of the gifts was truly overwhelming. And the person who made it all possible??? why, none other than caLLie cLine ! So, thank you Callie and ty designers and bloggers who participated.

I chose to wear some ‘vintage’ caLLie to commemorate CALLIE DAY today. I purchased this back around Feb. of  ‘07 and added on the patches pack from Tuli Asturias, who I believe at the time was designing under the Lollipop brand. I think I also own this in the army green color that was used for most of the release photos, but it was tmlw to find it in my inventory. What was so fun about this outfit was the customizable patch packs you could add to it. I have Tuli’s (pictured) as well as the orange flowered one that came with it, and a seperate pack of ‘Callie’s faves’ that include love and peace. Plus, you know, it has a fair amount of skank factor with the hoochie shorts and that’s always a plus

Iki Ikarus has been at it again! She’s been releasing new skins left and right and has this new one, Star, right on the horizon! Shown above is Star in the Cream skin tone. These makeups also have a freckled version. The eyeshadow that perfect shimmery plum color that pops up in her previous skins… done in that artful way that I sooo can’t do in RL

This one is Star in the Walnut skin tone. The smooth finish of these skins makes them appear so polished and soft. I love the nude glimmer of the lips and as a bonus, found out she reworked the mouth/teeth! Look how cute!

Only Happy When It Rains…

orrrr something.

Funnily enough there’s been zero rain lately. Mostly clear here… Oh wait! There were a few droplets yesterday morning. Does it really matter though? When it comes to fashion? I think not.

The paraplu set is from TorridWear and I was lucky enough to win the set back when it was released! It’s been around for a bit, but I never got the chance to show them off properly like everyone else did. Always one to do things fashionably late, I’m taking my turn now!

Also gave me a chance to wear one of my favorite coats on the grid! Armidi Gisaci’s Lima Trench in Divinity… not sure exactly how waterproof it is, but it’s super cute!

The hair I had to eff with for what seemed like hours to get it to cover my fat head, but I think I managed finally, if you don’t look at the back! It’s *0 Style* Ayase in Swedish Blonde and this is what my hair would really look like on a rainy day… except it wouldn’t. at. all.

I first saw the skin here and then, here. I loved the Detour demos for Lydia and Tamara but had to adjust the lips alot to get that perfect pout! I finally decided on the Lydia skins because of this dark burgandy lip color that I love!

I’m also very proud of my skill hiding the fact that I cut my foot off in the picture and I have no idea how – by positioning that shape low enough that it looks like my foot just slipped off the border.

Taking a cue from Achariya, I decided to jump on in the Posemaker Challenge with some of my faves.

Luth Brodie is one of the first regular pose makers that I started buying from in SL. Lonnnggggg ago, when I was but a wee av . I’ve never stopped. Her store, Reel Expression, is now familiar to me… a shopper’s dream when it comes to ease of finding and trying out the poses.

Shown above from left to right are: Movement 09, Melancholy 01, and Rawr 6. Truly prolific in her offerings, I’ve found many of the moods, and attitudes for my pose needs could be fulfilled by a trip to her store, or a search of my invey for long-ago purchased Reel Expression treasures.

Sex Sells 05 and Pin-up 02 complete the 5 of my faves to show off Luth’s wares. I’m also sporting my trusty Siggy Romulus mood hud, which Iunno if it’s still for sell, but hey, he sells that wonderful swimmer thing too!

*so much for this post a day for 30 days, huh? But there will be 30 posts within 30 days, even if I have to post the last 20 on day 30!

I kinda unofficially decided about a week ago that I was gonna shoot for posting 1 blog post per day for 30 days. So far I have, sorta. This post makes 6th (I think!)

The thing is, this is totally a cheater cheater pumpkin eater post! I am sho-ort on time this weekend, soooo I figured I’d do a *blog post* about doing blog posts! Brilliant, right?

And technically, this would be two in one day and none yesterday. I was doing the second one to make it up, but OMG it’s gonna be midfricking night by the time I hit publish! Goooo Rosie, goooooo!

Anyhow I hope to have more entertaing posts than this flimsy one in the next 24 days to smear across the few blogs that anyone has foolishly given me access to! Happy blog post reading!

Fashion Relay Challenge – Post 14

I’ve been waiting my turn! Checking Whimsy Winx’s blog, Virtually Dressed,  for her post so I could grab that fashion baton and GO! And then, she posted and I was like, uhhhh… where do I start?!

I’ve been keeping up on Sasy Scarborough’s brainchild,  The Fashion Relay Challenge, trying to get an idea ahead of time of what item I’d be basing my look around… which was totally pointless! These girls mixed it up!

Whimsy did a great post and I looked at it totally stumped for a moment! She’s so cute! But which of her items would I chose? I decided the baton I would snatch from her would be the Balderdash – Charmed I’m Sure Faery Hoard necklace. I love this necklace and wore the matching Faery Hoard Love Letter earrings.

Being a sort of Windlight n00b, I went to my current favorite scenic place in SL for background pics. I’ve been in a summer groove lately and these DeLa Dolly sandals in maroon are some of what I love best. Going along with the feel, I threw some casual pieces on over my swimsuit… just in case I decided to go for a dip!

I paired the ultra comfy Abyss Cuffed Capris (with holes) and one of my favorite-shirts-I-can’t-stop-wearing, Shirt H3, from Cubic Effect. Peeking out under my shirt is my Pink Leopard bikini from Refuge

The skin is one of my new favorites from ACfinity Skins, Aloe 03 in the fair skin tone. The short do is me going out of my comfort zone of longish hair, but with the super-cute Quinn from the darling Autumn Hykova at Pixel Dust, I feel saucy and brave (edited prims in front). My blinkeriffic Spike lashes are from Aphrodite Creations and the lip rings are from Deekay Xavier and I believe her store is under construction?

Sometimes You Wanna Go…

… where everybody knows your name

Although I looooove shopping and could probably sell my inventory for enough money to feed a small country, there are social limitations to the scenario pictured above

When I started SL I immediately seemed to get involved in large groups right off the bat… owning a club, meeting new people… my circle grew and grew. Then there were breaks from SL, coming back and finding my way through everything.

Breaks are tough on your social slife. Due to the condensed time we enjoy in SL, though you may leave for 30 days, to those on the inside, it will inevitably feel like 30 weeks… at least!

Being somewhat socially inept, I find it hard to be all outgoing and say hey!! tp me! or Hi, can I totally crash your party/shopping trip/hang out? I had much more fun in SL when there was a regular sort of place to go where there was stuff going on or people that I knew were hanging out there.

It was talking to Miss Kitty that got me to thinking about this.

I could go to like Hard Alley, I suppoooooooose, or there’s always Gor. These are rp environments where I imagine you’d get to know other regular rp’ers.  But short of wearing a sandwich board declaring “CLAIM ME AS A SLAVE”, there is a dirth of places to GO to interact.

One of the ideas Kitty shared with me was about an apartment complex with a coffee shop… Melrose Place? She also shared the idea of a hospital type rp complete with different departments, saucy love triangles, and a nurses station, ala General Hospital?

All of which sound like fun! My own weak attempt at offering a suggestion was: a Vegas (as in the now canceled NBC Show) scenario RP. Living in a casino – cuz you wouldn’t need to evar! leave! There could be showgirls, and high-rollers, dealers and deadbeats! What Fun!

Not sure where all these ideas go, but they’re fun to think of. What would your ideal rp sim be?

Orchid Rocks My Socks!

Omg you will never guess who has a store! Orchid has a store!!!! That’s right, you read that correctly… she’s witty, she’s smart, and now she’s making stuff in SL!

Look! there it is! Isn’t it cute. Technically, it looks like she shares it with Bebop. Glitter Factory is currently only an outlet, but I hear that there’s plans to open a store somewhere down the line!

What does Orchid make, you ask… skins!! She currently has 6 skin tones available and a small selection of makeups up for sale. I’m not going to show you any of those today (go see for yourself!)

What I am gonna show you is pics of some more untraditional skins that she’s been working on. Not normally my thing to be so – not normal – but these skins are very detailed and interesting.

These are her Cracked skins in white. I’m loving the sweetness of the lips on these skins in contrast to the garish design of the skin. NSFW pics below the cut…

Iris posted this challenge over at Shopping Cart Disco and I thought this was one that I conveniently had time for and would enjoy participating in   Terribly exciting, I know! Also the picture sucks! so you will have to creatively imagine what I’m describing!

1. My WAMU checkbook. I have used it once… so much for writing checks!
2. The folded up typed list of what to wrap for who from Santa… I’m housesitting while my friend and her family went on a cruise over xmas. She was so organized as to type up a list of the gifts in the boxes that I was to wrap while they were gone and who they were for… so that the girls will see that Santa came while they were gone! Thought I’d lost it… whew!
3. The work order for replacing the right front wheel bearing (baring?) on my volvo
4. The yellow warning notice that I parked in a no parking place at work. Whoops! Had no clue, but won’t be parking there again! Promise!
5. My makeup bag, equipped for anything… new day, touch up whatnot. Contents not shown here ::wink::
6. Change. Pounds of it! This is actually a small amount compared to what I normally carry, much to the annoyance of family who tell me how bad it is for me to carry around that much in coins.
7. It’s called a mannequin clip. Work stuff
8. OMG it’s a 10-dollar bill. You have no idea how much you feel like you won the lottery when you find that unexpected ten hiding away in a forgotten pocket in your purse!
